Eggnog

Make a double batch of vanilla pudding.

Add 1 quart of milk and lots of freshly grated nutmeg. Beat egg whites very stiff and sweeten them with about 1/3 cup granulated sugar. Fold the sweetened egg whites into the pudding/milk mixture. Add 1 T vanilla, more nutmeg, and more milk (if needed to make it “pourable”). Chill thoroughly. Top with freshly grated nutmeg to serve.

This is my all-time favorite Christmas treat. It’s not Christmas if we don’t have home-made egg nog. As much as I enjoy bourbon, I never put any alcohol in this eggnog. Don’t know why.
