Adam Grant

A professor, a organizational psychologist, and a best-selling author, Adam Grant has advised some of the most well-known businesses and entrepreneurs in the world today on how to run successful companies. Interestingly enough, however, Grant’s methods aren’t centered on profits and bottom lines (although those are still critical measurements to be addressed), but rather on motivation, generosity, rethinking, and potential.

One only has to take a look at his perspective on procrastination to see that he has gone beyond the simple black and white of being productive (or not) to find the nugget of gold that turns procrastination from a bad habit into a desirable state that allows for bigger and different thinking.

Born in Bloomfield, Michigan on August 13, 1981, Grant received a BA from Harvard College and an MS and PhD from the University of Michigan. He worked as a professional magician during college, but began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina in 2007. He later taught at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where, from 2011 to 2017, students ranked him as the best professor at the university.

In 2023, Grant was named by Thinkers50 as the #2 most influential management thinker in the world.
