Vanilla Pudding

Heat:
2 cups of milk.

Mix:
3/4 cups sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1/3 cup flour
2 egg yolks
1 T vanilla
2 T milk

Slowly, slowly (so you don’t cook the eggs) add the hot milk to the mixture. Whisk together and then carefully pour the mixture back into the pan. Heat over medium heat—constantly stirring slowly with a wooden spoon until mixture bubbles. (Make sure you stir all over the pan. If you don’t, it will scorch on the bottom.) Let cool.

You can also use this as the base for eggnog, banana pudding, filling for a layer cake, banana pie, or coconut pie.
